Gorham "Raphael" and Other Sterling Spoons and Tongs
Item Details
A collection of four sterling silver spoons and a pair of sterling tongs. This includes a teaspoon in the George Wilkinson designed Raphael pattern, first introduced in 1875, featuring a personalized engraving to the handle. It is presented with a pair of unmarked sugar tongs, an unmarked, floral accented spoon, and two spoons in the F. Antoine Heller designed Fontainebleau pattern by Gorham that is a multi-motif pattern of characters in costumes of the French court of Fontainebleau. The spoons by Gorham are marked ‘Sterling’ alongside the pseudo hallmarks of a lion, an anchor, and a Gothic ‘G’. The total approximate weight is 4.76 ozt.
