Antique Victorian Ladderback Side Chairs with Caned Seats

Item Details

A group of two antique Victorian ladderback side chairs with caned seats, circa late 19th century. The walnut frames feature arched, burl-veneered crests above two conforming splats, shaped hip supports, and caned seats. The chairs rise on turned, front legs joined by spindled, box stretchers to the raking back legs. One chair is stamped with the number 88, otherwise there are no maker’s marks.
