Item Details

An oil painting on canvas titled Female Nude by listed artist Clintel Steed (New York, b. 1977), created in 2004. Painted on two stretched canvases affixed together, this large abstract composition features a frontal view of a nude female figure seated in an orange and red chair. The work is portrayed with vibrant colors, rough textural impasto, and thick expressionistic brushstrokes. It is signed and dated to the verso. The composition remains unframed.

He acquired his formal artistic training at the Art Institute of Chicago receiving a BFA in 1999 and his MFA from Indiana University in 2001. During his artistic career, he presented his work in multiple locations including the Indiana University Art Museum, New York Studio School and the National Academy of Design, among others.
