Decorative Ceramic Tableware including Spode
Item Details
A collection of decorative kitchenware. This grouping contains a pair of ceramic plates from Copeland Spode; one in Italian with a blue landscape the other a hunt scene, a matching cup and saucer from Adam which depicts the Lancashire’s coat of arms and and Staffordshire dish that is marked ‘Arms of the States’ by Mellor Venables & Co. The firm was active ca. 1834–51. The maker’s marks and tags are present on the respective undersides of the pieces.
Condition
- various degrees of wear, scuffs, scratches and fading present throughout on the pieces; staining present on the blue and white Copeland Spode plate; heavy spotting present on the Mellors plate.
