A hand-knotted Chinese vase rug. This wool rug features a central medallion in coffee and slate blue on a tan lozenge with poppy figures as well as flower vase imagery. Chocolate flower forms and leaves fill the spandrels, leading to a geometric minor border in dark brown and tan with blue accents. The principal border features a floral, leaf and vase motif on an almond hued ground. A double selvedge edge and white cotton fringe finish this unlabled rug.
