A hand-knotted Afghan Bokhara rug. This wool rug features four rows of fourteen iconic Afghani guls in a palette of red, cream, ochre and slate blue on a tan ground, interspersed with Chemche gul medallions in the same hues. Seven compound borders surround this rug in diamond patterns and floral patterns with a principal border of boxed starburst in complimentary hues. This rug has an overcast red selvedge edge and finishes in a brief kilim with long white cotton fringe. This rug is unmarked.
