A hand-knotted and signed palace sized Kerman wool area rug. This rug features a central floral medallion in a palette of indigo, rose, teal and blue on a deep, saturated crimson field adorned with floral spandrels in a similar color. A complex compound border with meandering florals encircles the field, repeating the central medallion pattern and colors. A wide primary band has a pattern of large cartouche forms,meeting elaborate, decorative spandrels. A signature is present in maroon within a cartouche at the bottom of the field. It has overcast edges and thick natural warp fringe to the ends. Unlabeled.
