A Royal Doulton ale jug with a motto. Featured here is a light brown pottery pitcher with dark brown accents. Decorating the sides of the jugs are pictures of characters and the words ‘He that buys land, buy stones. He that buys flesh, buys bones. He that buys eggs, buys many shells. He that buys good ale, buys nothing else’. Maker’s mark and ‘1947’ present to the underside.
