Towle and Alvin Sterling Silver Serving Tongs
Item Details
A pair of sterling silver serving tongs. Includes a pair of tongs in the Raleigh pattern by Alvin Silver Co, first introduced in 1900, featuring a beaded edge with a scrolled tip and talon claws. The interior is marked ‘Sterling Patent’ with an Alvin maker’s mark. Also included is a pair of sugar tongs in the Fontana pattern by Towle Silversmiths. Produced between 1957 and 2009, this piece features a scrolled edge with two curved tines. The interior is marked ‘Towle Sterling Fontana’. The total approximate weight is 1.275 ozt.
