Vintage Royal Doulton Porcelain Proverb Pitcher

Item Details

A Royal Doulton porcelain proverb pitcher. The piece features a single handle finished in a brown glaze with gilt border, and a white ground to the body of the pitcher with gilt rim to the top. The piece features the proverb Quarrelling Dogs Come Halting Home and a Dickensian figure on a crutch with a single dog at his heel to one side. The proverb ‘More than enough is too much’ surrounded by a garland is written on the opposite side. It is stamped with the Royal Doulton lion passant crown mark and production numbers to the underside.
