Mettlach Tavern Stein

Item Details

A ceramic lidded beer stein from Mettlach. It features a hand-painted finish bearing the image of a quintet of village musicians, with geometric borders and accents in shades of maroon, brown, and white. The pewter lid has a lyre-shaped thumb lift and a tan and grey inlay depicting a lyre to the top. Marked Mettlach to the underside, with ‘1471’, signed ‘Warth’ to one side of the exterior, and production numbers.

Condition

- light wear and marks; material is flaking underneath metal lid; could benefit from a light cleaning.
