Antique Royal Doulton "Gibson Girl" Transfer Print Plates
Item Details
A collection of twelve antique Royal Doulton Gibson Girl transfer print plates. The center of the plates feature black and white illustrated scenes of the Gibson girl, a character created by Charles Dana Gibson, which first appeared in Life Magazine, following the timeline of a young widow as she works through her grief. In the space outside of the illustration the plates have a blue and white transfer printed ten pointed flower design and toothed detailing around the rim. The are marked ‘Royal Doulton/England.’
