A Mettlach ceramic lidded beer stein by Villeroy and Boch. It features a hand-painted tavern scene bearing the image of a 19th century man being toasted by village bar patrons, with geometric borders and accents in shades of blue, brown, and tan. The pewter lid has a vasiform thumb lift and a tan and blue inset in a geometric pattern. Marked Mettlach to the underside with the impressed Abbey mark and production numbers, with ‘1403.’
