An antique Doulton Lambeth commemorative Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee pitcher with sterling silver rim. This two-tone brown pitcher has a black rim and is decorated with double likenesses of the young and older queen in profile wearing the George IV diadem. The upper portion has floral representation of the United Kingdom including the rose for England, thistle for Scotland and the shamrock for Ireland. In relief is ‘Dei Gratia = Victoria = Queen and Empress’, ‘1837-1897’ with the lower portion reads ‘She Wrought Her People Lasting Good’. Maker’s marks present to the verso ‘7223’, ‘r’, k’ ‘Doulton/Lambeth/England’ and various decorators marks. The sterling rim features London hallmarks including the maker’s mark for Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd, the lion passant and the date mark for 1896.
