Pair of Carved Wood Statuettes
Item Details
A group of two hand-carved hardwood statuettes. The statuettes are made from an unknown type of dense hardwood, in a very dark brown, near-black color. One depicts a young man wearing a waist skirt, standing on a pedestal. The other depicts a girl carrying a vessel or bundle on her head, and she also stands on a pedestal base. No maker’s marks.
Condition
Boy statuette may be missing an accessory (hand appears to have once held an object); foot comes out of the base easily, causing the figure to wobble
Light surface marks, scratches wear throughout
Cracks to the wood in areas
Label or sticker residue on one
