Pair of Grace Huntley Pugh Watercolor Paintings on Paper

A pair of watercolor paintings on paper by Grace Huntley Pugh (1912 – 2010). The first work depicts a harbor scene with dark heavy clouds titled Storm at Mamaroneck Harbor. To the bottom the work is titled and signed in ink. The second work depicts a spanning bridge and is titled Ponte Rialto created in 1952. To the bottom right the work is signed and dated in ink. To the verso, a gallery label is adhered and the work is titled in graphite. Each item is presented without a frame.

Grace Huntley Pugh was a member of the American Watercolor Society. She graduated from Barnard College and attended the National Academy of Design Art School, the Art Students League, and the Parsons School of Design. She was also the founding president of the Mamaroneck Artists Guild and is mostly known for her paintings of Mamaroneck Harbor.

Condition

- some wear to the edges of each work; some warping to the paper; to the verso of the largest work, some wear, marks, and tape residue; bottom corner of the mat from the largest work is missing.
