A mid-century modern oil painting on canvas of a figural architectural scene, created in 1956. This grisaille work depicts a male figure wearing a trench coat walking through a residential area. A prominent defoliated tree, architecture and foliage are comprised of thick impasto applied in varying textures. There is a gallery label affixed to the verso. The painting is signed and dated by hand with the artist monogram ‘SK 56’ to the lower right corner. The item remains unframed.
Condition
- minor wear along edges of canvas; minor and scattered paint loss along the edges and upper left corner of the painting; minor dents to the canvas visible to the upper area of the composition; minor liquid stains scattered through the left half of the work.
