Collection of Antique Engraved Portaits

Item Details

A collection of six antique engravings of portraits. The first two are both engravings by German printmaker Johann Leonhard Raab (1825 – 1899) after original portraits by Dutch artist Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn (1606 – 1669) depicting his daughter. The second two are both hand-colored engravings of Catholic Bishops with printed facsimile signatures to their lower margins; one depicts Bishop Peter Bourgade and the other is illegible. Neither have artist information. The fifth is an engraving by J.C. Armytage after an original oil painting on wood titled The Disciple by very well-listed English painter William Etty (1787 – 1849). The final print is from a plate engraved by Jacob Matham, titled Hieronyma Justiniana Franciscie. F. Josephi Justiniani Coniunx. The print is marked with a ‘4’ to the lower right. All of the prints are presented without matting or framing, awaiting your choice of presentation.
