19th Century Sterling Silver Chatelaine Coin Purse with Faceted Green Glass Cap

Item Details

A 19th century sterling silver chatelaine coin purse with a faceted green glass bezel set at the hinged cap. The top rim of the coin purse has a floral pattern and is engineered to expand giving access to the chainmaille sack with three ball finials. A short link chain at the top is attached to a ring which allowed a lady to carry the purse on her belt. The chain is stamped ‘sterling’ and the total weight is 1.655 ozt.
