A model of the wooden clipper ship Flying Cloud from 1851. The green and black sailing vessel wood and metal model depicts the three-masted ship with rigging and its sails furled. The realistic piece stands on a rectangular wood base marked ‘Flying Cloud – 1851’. In 1854, the Flying Cloud set a 100-year-old-record for the fastest sailing passage between New York and San Francisco.
