Pair of Hand-Colored Nautical Etchings

Item Details

A pair of hand-colored etchings on paper depicting nautical scenes. The first is a 1922 hand-colored aquatint etching on paper after an original painting titled The First Journey of ‘Victory,’ 1778. by very well-listed English artist William Lionel Wyllie (1851 – 1931). The plate was engraved by Harold Wyllie. The second print is a 1900 hand-colored etching after an original painting titled Dropping down with the Tide. It depicts many boats floating on an industrial harbor. Both of the prints are presented without matting or framing, awaiting your choice of presentation.

Condition

- first print listed has a spotty black mold across. Light water damage and discoloration across second print. Light creasing and warping across both.
