Two Offset Lithgoraph Prints after Winold Reiss Portraits of Native Americans

Two offset lithograph prints after original paintings by well-listed German-American artist Winold Reiss (1886-1953), published by the Great Northern Railway Co. The first print, The Pemmican Makers, depicts two seated Native American women mixing dried berries and meat to make pemmican. The second print, Mountain Flower, features a portrait of a seated Native American woman wearing an elaborately beaded dress and hair adornments. The artist name and publishing information are printed to the lower right. Each unframed print is presented in a pale gray French style mat with a brown grosgrain ribbon border.
Condition
- scattered light stains and creasing to prints. Tear to lower right margin of Mountain Flower. Minor damage to corners of mats.
