1734 Unframed Map of Franconia, Germany

Item Details

A circa early 18th century antique map of Franconia, a region of south-central Germany. It is titled ‘Franconie’, has a scale in German miles, and uses a mixture of German and Latin text for the labels, with towns typically named in German and regions, rivers and other features in Latin. A previous owner has dated it in pencil 1734 and given the name of the cartographer and/or engraver as De Sauzet. The map is unframed, and is protected in a plastic sleeve.
