A hand-colored aquatint etching on paper printed from an original 1882 plate after an original painting by English painter and printmaker Henry Thomas Alken (1785 – 1851), titled The Halt at the Black Swan. The print depicts a busy roadway filled with figures and horses outside of a stone building with a sign picturing a Black Swan on its face. The artists’ names and print information are printed to the lower margin. The piece is presented without matting or framing, awaiting your choice of presentation.
