West German Hand Painted Cuckoo Clock

A West German hand painted cuckoo clock. The hand painted clock housing is in the form of a Bavarian chalet with a whimsical farmer armed with a pitch fork attempting to chase away a man climbing a ladder to his presumed young daughter above. There are two windows, one concealing a cuckoo bird, the second a woman with braided hair. The plastic dial is marked ‘W. Germany’, the brass movement is marked ‘Schmeckenbecher Made in West Germany.’ The clock comes with two pine cone weights and a wooden pendulum.

Condition
- there is soiling, wear and cracking to painted surfaces. The clock is untested, unknown if all chains are present, with a sticky residue to the backing.
