A contemporary oil copy painting on canvas by an anonymous artist after the original 1882 oil painting by well-listed Irish trompe l’oeil still life painter William Michael Harnett (Ireland/New York; 1848 – 1892), titled A Study Table. This painting depicts a warmly illuminated pile of nick knacks often found in many a well-seasoned work space, including old books, sheet music, quilts, and a beer stein. The unsigned work is presented in a gold tone and black gesso frame. There is a hanging wire mounted to the verso.
Condition
- abrasions to center and upper left with paint loss; stress cracks to paint at right and upper left; minor nicks and wear to frame.
