Three 1828 Carl Ludwig Blume Hand-Colored Botanical Engravings

A collection of three 1828 hand-colored botanical prints created using both engraving and stone lithograph methods after original illustrations by very well-listed German-Dutch botanist and illustrator Carl Ludwig Blume (1796 – 1862). The plates were created by printmaker J. Vivien. The illustrations are from the artist’s 1828-1851 publication Flora Javae nec non insularum adjacentium. The prints included are plates XXVI, XX, and XXXVI and are titled, respectively, Niphobolus Flocciger., Niphobolus Elongatus., and Antrophyum Lanceolatum. The prints’ title are printed to their lower margins, and areas of the plants throughout are numbered and labeled. The prints are presented without matting or framing, awaiting your choice of presentation.

- light yellowing, foxing, denting, and ripping across all prints.
