A Japanese-inspired crewel embroidery made from a Western embroidery kit. This hand-stitched piece depicts a man and woman in traditional dress seated on a porch. They have served saké, and the woman plays a flute as the sun sets over the water behind them. The central image is surrounded by a tiled border. The textile is stretched over a wood frame and unsigned.
