Semi-Antique Hand-Knotted Turkish Oushak Carpet Runner
Item Details
A semi-antique Turkish Oushak carpet runner. This rectilinear wool rug is hand-knotted in an abrashed and faded palette of gray, pink, ivory, pale olive, and black. It begins with three hexagonal floral medallions over a stepped gray lozenge. The lozenge rests on a black and gray lattice with a horizontal panel at the top and bottom of the field, each panel enclosing stylized tulips and ram’s horns. Framing the field are three borders, including running water and floral patterns. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
