An early 20th-century oil painting on board of a pastoral landscape attributed to Harry Hall. This work features a green terrain populated with sheep, a jagged dirt path, budding spring trees, and a farm house in the background. The painting is illegibly signed to the lower right; illegible handwriting is also present to the verso. A handwritten note attached to the verso reads ‘Painted by Professor Harry Hall, Sabina, Ohio, June 28, 1921, My music teacher, Pauline’. The composition is presented without glass in a muted gold-tone wood frame.
Condition
- faint stains and toning throughout composition; some rubbing along painting edges; wear throughout frame includes finish loss, scratches, small chips, and stains scattered throughout.
