1920s Asian Style Painted Desk on Stand by Angelus Furniture

Item Details

A 1920s, painted desk on stand in black and green, decorated with Asian style peony trees, hand-painted on each door panel and bordered in a red floral stencil. Ornately cast metal strap hinges and latch are mounted to each door. The interior is painted red with bamboo painting on doors and desk lid. An upper shelf, over pigeon holes and lower pierced-valance, are above the fall-front writing surface. The gold-toned and glazed base has one drawer, over four carved cabriole legs. A label inside drawer reads, ‘Mfd. by Angelus Furniture Manufacturing Co., Los Angeles’.
