A Turkish Oushak area rug. This wool rug is hand-knotted in a sun-washed, variegated palette of cream, gold, taupe, pale olive, light blue, and burgundy. It features a large-scale classic herati field incorporating palmettes, morning glories and other flowers, lancet leaves, and swirling vines over a cream and gold field. Framing the field are compound floral borders, including a herati primary border. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
