A hand-knotted Turkish Oushak wool runner rug. The runner features a pattern of arabesques, palmettes, flowers, leaves, and vines worked in a palette of faded golds, browns, grays, and camels on a maize field. The wide borders are worked in the same palette. They feature two guard borders with flower and meander motifs on a gray background. The primary border reiterates the arabesques, leaves, and flowers theme found in the field. The rug has double overcast sewn selvedges. Short fringe at each end. Not marked.
