Item Details
A pair of watercolor paintings on paper of landscapes by the artist Reverend Joseph Wilkinson (1764-1831), both titled Cottage, St. John’s Vale. Both paintings are rendered with careful pencil lines and washes of earth tone paint, depicting atmospheric lines of rolling hills lined with trees and greenery. They are mounted under glass and French mats, inside green and gold tone frames with plaques to their lower edges and wires for hanging. There is a notation from the original owner to the verso of one.
Condition
- minor wear to surface of frames; tears to paper on versos; toning to paper.
