An antique hand-knotted Kurdish area rug. The rug features a central hooked medallion in a palette of rust, cream, and black on a navy field. The field is populated by diamond patterns throughout with a serrated edge leading to embellished spandrels with floral and vine patterns throughout. It is enclosed by a running water border in a complementary palette on a taupe background with overcast edges and a short fringe to either end. Unmarked.
