A 1962 woodblock print on paper by listed New England artist William Parker Abbe (1916 – 1983). The work is rendered in a palette of black against off-white and depicts students filing into the Schoolhouse building at Saint Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire, for which Abbe was the artist-in-residence from 1949-81. The print is signed ‘Bill Abbe 1962’ in graphite to the lower left and inscribed ‘for Mr. Warren’, the rector of the school at that time. It is matted in light brown and presented under glass in an off-white wooden frame fitted with hanging wire to the verso. - toning and foxing to print; scuffing and edge wear to frame; slight buckling to paper; frame is slightly dusty.
