Chinese Ceramic Bowl with Snake and Mice motif

A Chinese ceramic bowl with a snake and mice motif. On one side a snake curls up to the rim, with it head reaching over, facing the other two creatures who peek into the bowl. The exterior is decorated with brown glazed faces which have glazed green eyes. Raised beading and swirled accents cover the surface. The piece is marked to the underside with an apparent Jiajing reign mark, however, it was produced in the mid- to late-20th century.
