Antique Japanese Carved Pine Trunk

Item Details

An antique Japanese Trunk in pine, featuring a front facade with carved , raised and painted characters, along with a large wrought iron latch and bail handle. The trunk rests on a molded base with scalloped apron and bracket feet. The interior retains fragments of the original, printed paper lining. Circa 1900-20. Includes a passementerie tassel.
