A replica Antoine Louis Barye cast bronze elephant lamp. This table lamp has a cream colored octagonal shaped shade and a brass tone finial. The body of the lamp is a cast bronze sculpture modeled after an elephant in mid-stride. It is based upon an original bronze sculpture by the French Romantic artist Antoine Louis Barye, who is known for his animal sculptures. It is signed in the mold ‘Barye’ at the back right corner. The sculpture rests on a wooden plinth base.
Condition
- tested and working, light surface marks throughout, lampshade is damaged to interior.
