A Turkish Kayseri area rug by Bazaar 54. This curvilinear wool rug is hand-knotted in a palette of peach, cream, dusty pink, taupe, and gray-sage. It begins with a large star medallion with palmette pendants at top and bottom. The medallion rests on a cream-colored, contoured field, which is cornered with peach and gray-sage spandrels. Populating the medallion, field, and spandrels are palmettes, leaves, flowers, and vines. The field is framed by compound floral borders grounded in dusty pink or taupe. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at each end with long ivory cotton warp fringe. It is labeled on the reverse.
