A limited edition serigraph on hand woven paper titled Red Sunset Prague by Anatole Krasnyansky (Ukrainian/American, b. 1930). Depicted is a fiery red sun setting above the vibrant city of Prague. Colorful buildings in gradient tones line the exterior of a town square with people bustling throughout the interior. Signed to the lower left, ‘A. Krasnyansky.’ Numbered edition 139 of 350 to the lower right. Floated mounted with a white and black matting, under glass, and housed in a gold and silver tone wood frame.

Anatole Krasnyansky was born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1930. He studied architectural restoration at the School of Architecture program at the Kiev State Art Institute and at the Leningrad Academy of Art, receiving his masters in architecture in 1953. He began experimenting with paper textures and energetic watercolor scenes of abstracted figures and cityscapes. He moved to California in 1975 where he mastered this new form that combined elements of architectural lines, dazzling color and surrealist forms combining elements of his Eastern European heritage and the grandiosity of the United States.
