A handwoven Peruvian wool area rug. The rug is made of two seamed panels which depict a stylized scorpion. The field is worked in an undyed natural wool background which includes shades of brown and gray. The design itself incorporates variegated shades of rusty brown, espresso, and buff. The simple border consists of a band of rust-colored wool. Unmarked.
