A 1990 R. Crumb (American, 1943-) illustrated The Book Reader offset lithograph calendar for Carlson & Turner. The top of the calendar features a captioned drawing of a man, presumably Crumb himself, being carried away by a book he is enjoying. It is signed and dated 1989 in plate to the bottom right. Crumb is one of the most influential cartoonists of his generation, known for his idiosyncratic and extraordinarily detailed cartoons. The calendar features a mint green ground with a logo for Carlson & Turner, Antiquarian and Scholarly Books, to the bottom.
