An acrylic painting on canvas titled World on Fire by New New painter Bruce Peirmarini, executed in 1989. Waves of dark color caress the center of the work applied with a big tool in a sweeping motion, with sultry red and green striated colors upon the blue ground. The intercourse of colors mix and clash, full forms and flat forms interface, and intensities vary. The struggle between powers of form and color initiate and emotive response. Presented with a wood panel frame.

Bruce Piermarini received his B.F.A. at the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 1977. Further education includes an M.F.A. at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Maryland in 1980 and Yale Norfolk Fellowship in 1976. Bruce taught at Mount Wacusett Community College, Massachusetts (1976-78) and at the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore (1980). Member of the New New Painters, a group of artists brought together by the first curator of modern and contemporary art at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Dr. Kenworth Moffett in 1978.
