A 1986 Edinburg sterling silver chalcedony Claddaugh brooch. This piece features an Irish Claddaugh motif (Irish: fáinne Chladaigh) motif adorned with a chalcedony cabochon. First appearing in the 17th century in the village bearing the same name, (modernly named Galway) the Claddaugh represents love, (symbolized by the heart) loyalty (Crown), and friendship (hands).
