Offset Lithographs After Henry Fletcher "May" From "Twelve Months of Flowers"

A pair of offset lithographs titled May after engravings by Henry Fletcher (active 1710-1750) from Twelve Months of Flowers by British horticulturist Robert Furber (1674-1756) and after designs painted by Pieter Casteels III (1684-1749). The lot includes two of the same print in different sizes. These prints depict detailed flower arrangements in vases that feature over thirty blooms that flourish during the month of May. Beneath the imagery is printed the month and list of included flowers. Each is presented behind glass in wood frames with sawtooth brackets to the versos for hanging.

Condition

- toning to larger print; significant scratches and nicks throughout both, but particularly to larger, frames; wear to finish of both frames.
