A 1977 oil painting on canvas by listed German artist Peter Keil (b. 1942) titled Red Boy. The work depicts an abstract portrait of a male figure, rendered in expressive strokes of red hues, and outlined in thick black lines and sgraffito. The piece is signed and dated in graphite to the lower right and titled to the lower left. It includes an additional inscription in black marker to the canvas verso of ‘Red Boy, Pet. Keil, Berlin 77’, with a third signature and date on a certificate adhered to the lower edge of the verso. It is presented without glass in a gold tone wooden frame with a linen liner and gold tone fillet.
