Vintage Buttonhooks, Grooming Tools, Photo Cufflinks and Thimble
Item Details
A small collection of vintage grooming tools, buttonhooks, thimble and photo cufflinks. The latter features a black-and-white photograph of a young child to fronts, and bean closure. Grooming tools include a file and nail blade with bone handles. The larger buttonhook is marked ‘Ernest M. Young, Church St.’ to bow, while the smaller folds into a sterling case, which also contains a small blade. This glove hook was designed with a loop to serve as fob or chatelaine. It has a base metal blade, and is marked ‘Maggie’ to one side, and ‘925/1000, Sterling 53’ to the other, also beaering the mark ‘Germany.’ Finally, the gold tone thimble has machined dimples to upper portion, and is monogrammed ‘C.N.H.’ to lower portion. This item is not hallmarked, and comes in a small holder marked ’M’Inroy’ that may not be its original container.
Condition
- some rust on metal parts.
- cufflinks worn along edges of image.
- minor markings throughout.
