An original signed ink and watercolor drawing on compressed paper board by very well-listed American illustrator Sam Norkin (New York, 1917 – 2011), best-known for his theater sketches. This piece is titled Westbury Music Fair, and depicts playful ink line drawings of the Rosemary Clooney, Mel Torme, and the Glenn Miller Band performing at the event, all set against a blue watercolor background. The piece is signed to the lower right. The piece’s title, the date Sept. 20, 1980, and several additional notes are written in graphite to the lower margin. The work is presented without matting or framing, awaiting your choice of presentation. Norkin had thousands of illustrations published in the New York Daily News, New York Herald Tribune, Boston Globe, Washington Post, and countless other publications.
