Reds Hall Of Fame Players Frank McCormick and Ewell Blackwell Signed Cards

Item Details

A pair of former Cincinnati Reds star players Ewell Blackwell and Frank McCormick signed exhibit cards. Each card has been signed in marker and is bold and smudge free. The autographs have not been professionally authenticated. Ewell added the inscription ‘Best Wishes’ before his name. Exhibit cards were available to the general public in the 1930s-1950s at amusement parks, stores, and lobbies. One would place a coin in the advertising vending machine and a card would be expelled. Each card is constructed of cardboard with a replica signature of that player. The cards have a blank back side. Frank McCormick had an illustrious career with the Cincinnati Reds as a star hitter and first baseman. He is a member of the 1939 and 1940 Reds Championship teams. Ewell Blackwell, nicknamed ‘The Whip,’ was a dominating side-arm pitcher for the Reds in the 1950s. Each card is housed in a protective top loader.
